Television and radio presenter Martel Maxwell was once paid to party around the world as a showbiz journalist. She later moved into the broadcast world and now is a well known face and voice on both TV and radio.
Martel is a presenter, journalist, best selling author and columnist. She presents short films around Scotland for BBC1's The One Show and is a regular contributor on ITV's Lorraine as an entertainment presenter and newspaper reviewer.

In Scotland, she co-presented On The Road for BBC1 Scotland, looking at events and activities across the country, launched to coincide with the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Martel Maxwell is a regular presenter on BBC Radio Scotland.
Martel originally trained to be a criminal lawyer, studying at Edinburgh University, before moving into journalism. She won The Sun's first traineeship, starting at London's City University before placements in Australia, Glasgow and Manchester. She worked for over a decade as a journalist, in news, sport, features and business and specialising latterly in entertainment after her love of partying was spotted.
Martel, an ambassador for her home city Dundee, is an experienced opinion writer, moving from reporting to having had her own columns in The Scottish Sun, Scotland on Sunday and now the Dundee Evening Telegraph as she concentrates on her broadcast work.
Her debut novel, Scandalous, published by Penguin and described as Piers Morgan as a 'waspish insight into the world of showbiz' was a best seller and named book of the week in several magazines. It drew on her experiences as to what really happens on the showbiz circuit.
