Libby McArthur is best known for her role as the Oyster Café owner, Gina Rossi on River City. She has though appeared in most of Scotland's returning TV series, during which she has played wife to, Ford Keirnan, Fish and Andy Cameron, daughter to Miriam Margoyles, Annie Ross and Johnny Beattie, and sister to Andy Gray, Forbes Masson, and Bobby Carlyle.
She has her own column in Scotland's favourite paper, the Daily Record where each week she tells us of her adventures in showbiz. Her work as an actor, writer and director has spanned more than three decade but Libby's comedic warmth lends itself to any audience. As a naturally gifted storyteller her work has varied from warm-up girl to narrator for the RSNO!
Libby enjoyed critical acclaim at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival after directing George Gunn's 3000Trees which has been nominated for an Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award. She continues to develop her craft as a writer, director, actor, presenter and speaker.
In January 2016, Libby was on tour with "Mum's The Word 2", a sequal to the play about a group of actresses who had all become mothers and how they coped with bringing up the toddlers. The sequal was how the toddlers were now teenagers and it starred Libby alongside Still Game's Jane McCarry, Deacon Blue's Lorraine McIntosh, Julie Wilson Nimmo from Balamory and radio DJ Suzie McGuire.
As one of Scotland's most versatile and sought after personalities, Libby McArthur is an accomplished Host, After Dinner Speaker and Robert Burns Speaker, and a firm favourite with:
The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum for their Burns Humanitarian Awards Event.
The Lord Provost's showcase event and the "World's Largest Burns Supper" with over 750 guests.
As well as ambassadorial work for several notable Scottish charities including the Prince and Princes of Wales Hospice.
