Martin Gurdon is a free-lance motoring journalist and author who has written for titles including the Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, Classic Cars and Octane Magazine. He also has a slightly weird sideline, writing comedic books about domestic fowl and he's a columnist in a magazine that really is called, Your Chickens.
What started eight years ago as book plugging talks have taken on an afterlife as lunch club/after dinner turns that Martin has done hundreds of times in venues ranging from village halls to the Derby Assembly Rooms.
Martin makes people laugh and he's very good at doing these things. Apart from his chicken talk, he's now added a car-themed talk called The Bluffers Guide to Cars, which just happens to be the name of one of his book.
He talks about burning Reliant Robins to the ground and pensionable, pissed English motoring journalists accidentally climbing into bed with Swedish businessmen.
Martin Gurdon has been writting about cars for more than 20 years and has owned nearly 70, from a Honda Z600 to a Bristol 401. He writes and makes videos about new cars for Honest John's website (www.honestjohn.co.uk) and has written several books, including Hen and the Art of Chicken Maintenance.
