The dynamic Alex Polizzi is a high profile hotelier/business woman and is the presenter of the highly acclaimed, award winning, Channel 5 series 'The Hotel Inspector' which sees a new series in production for 2018. Alex also presented 'Alex Polizzi - The Fixer' on BBC 2, with Alex helping all types of family businesses, to turn things around.
Before coming to prominence on television in 2008, Alex, the daughter of an Italian count, was well known within the hotel industry. Her grandfather was Lord Forte, founder of Forte Hotels and her mother, the hotel designer Hon. Olga Polizzi, is Lord Forte's daughter and the sister of the legendary Sir Rocco Forte.
Oxford University educated Alex, trained at the prestigious Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hong Kong. She then went on to work for Marco Pierre White at London's Criterion restaurant in Piccadilly, before setting off to work at a number of Forte hotels, in cities around the world.
After spending nearly 3 years as the Hotel inspector on TV, helping other hoteliers and B&B owners to improve their businesses, Alex left the show and next to get the Polizzi treatment was the Endsleigh, a Grade 1 listed house on the edge of Dartmoor, which Alex still manages.
In 2010, Alex published her first book, "Alex Polizzi's Little Black Book of Hotels" sharing her advice on how to enjoy the very best hotels.
She helped start a wholesome, bespoke family bakery, which supplies top name stores such as Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges.
