He was voted Editor of the Year by the PPA and the British Society of Magazine Editors. LOADED has since sold over 30 million copies.
After LOADED James was asked to help turn around the fortunes of GQ for Cond Nast. He then left to launch his own company, I Feel Good, which published Jack, Viz, Bizarre, Fortean Times and the official Leeds United FC fanzine. He sold the group for 6.4m in 2003.
James Brown is currently CEO of Black Ops, the media consultancy. He is also Consultant Editorial Director for Dennis Publishing, and writes for several newspapers including the Sunday Times, London Evening Standard and Mail on Sunday.
James is frequently asked to appear on TV and radio as a cultural commentator. He has also edited four books, including Vic Reeves Big Night In and Welcome To Elland Road.
The recipient of numerous awards, James has been voted Editor of The Year by both the PPA and the British Society of Magazine Editors. He has also been profiled in Newsweek and Vanity Fair.
