Is there anyone out there who still does not know, that Carol Thatcher is the daughter of ex UK Prime Minister, Baroness Margaret Thatcher? Certainly before Carol entered the jungle and came out crowned 'Queen' and winner of ITV's 'Im A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!' (now in its seventh series) the general public were probably unaware of exactly who she was. Later when Carol was asked what her most embarrassing moment was? She replied ' Peeing in the bushes in the jungle, I didn't realise how embarrassing that would be until 17 days later, after I was crowned winner'.
Carol Thatcher became an instant hit with the public, press and media, all looking to book Carol Thatcher for interviews and get her thoughts on just about everything and anything.
This new found fame saw Carol take to it like a duck to water and these days she is hardly away from our screens. Not long after 'I'm A Celebrity', Carol was seen presenting the award for Best Television Comedy at the British Comedy Awards 2005.
A regular broadcaster on TV and radio and highly successful author, In 1996 Carol wrote a biography of her father Dennis Thacher 'Below the Parapet' which was immediately a best seller (reached No 3.) and was refered to as 'a very good, often very funny account of a rather splendid dad'. Previously she had written a tennis book about Chris Evert and her then-husband, John Lloyd. It was called Lbydon Lloyd and it became a No 1 bestseller.
2007 saw Carol star in a Channel 4's documentary 'Mummy's War' which saw her travelling to the Falkland Islands and Argentina twenty five years after the end of the Falklands War. Carol got a bit of a rough reception when she arrived in Argentina as she was met at the airport by Argentine Army veterans who did not want her in their country, as in their opinion she was the daughter of an alleged war criminal. Carol was very quick to tell one of them ''Don't forget Argentina invaded first. We didn't start this war.''
Carol is now in great demand for personal appeances and speaking engagements.
