Richard Wilson is the recipient of a British Comedy Award and three BAFTAs. Probably best known as the comically depressed Victor Meldrew in 'One Foot in the Grave' which produced the reknowned catchphrase 'I can't belive it!
A serious actor and sometimes director, Richard works in both theatre and television.
In 1987 Richard first came to prominance in the BBC Scotland comedy drama 'Tutti Frutti' which picked up six BAFTAS including best drama series. Tutti Frutti told the story of 50s rock and roll band The Majestics. On the eve of their comeback tour, disaster strikes when their lead singer Big Jazza dies in a car crash. Luckily younger brother Danny (Robbie Coltrane) steps in to save the day. The series starred Richard Wilson as Eddie Clocherty the dodgy dealing band manager and also launched the careers of both Robbie Coltrane as Danny and Emma Thomson as his love interest Suzie Kettles.
Only one thing came to plague Richard Wilson long
before he was pestered to recite his famous catch phrase I dont Believe It, fans of Tutti Frutti
pestered him to shout Miss Tonerwhich was played by actress Katy Murphy.
Richard will consider speaking engagements and if you are lucky, Victor has been known to also make an appearance.
