Matt Dawson was part of the England squad that took the country to victory in the 2003 World Cup, Matt is an institution in the world of rugby. He is immediately recognizable as team captain on BBCs A Question of Sport as well as a rugby commentator for the BBC and Radio 5 live
With 77 caps under his belt, Matt Dawson is England's most capped scrum half, captaining the side 9 times. He has played for both Northampton and the London Wasps as well as England and represented the British Lions on two tours. During the 1998 tour to Australia and New Zealand The Tour from Hell, Matt was congratulated on his leadership. He also captained England to win the Six Nations Championships in 2000.
Regarded as one of the more outspoken players Matt is a favourite with the BBC rugby coverage, is a rugby analyst for Radio 5 Live and has had substantial experience in written journalism. His position on A Question of Sport has elevated him from a well known rugby player to a national TV personality.
A big sports fan, Matt Dawson can often be seen playing for the Bunbury Cricket team or out on a golf course playing off 12.

In a special Masterchef series in 2006, Matt displayed his culinary talents and endured a number of intense days to be crowned 'Celebrity Masterchef'. Matt consistently wowed the judges with a number of inventive and top-class dishes, beating 23 other celebrities and showing he could cope as well as any gourmet chef with the critics and pressures of a busy kitchen.
Not content with being a champion on the rugby pitch and in the kitchen, in 2006 Matt competed in the BBC1 prime time show 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Partnered with Lilia who waltzed Darren Gough to the sought after title the previous year. Matt came second in the competition but he returned to the show later in 2008, to dance with Elaine Paige in Sport Relief does Strictly Come Dancing. Matt came second again but a huge amount of money was raised for the charity.
