Andy Gray was brought up in Perth and trained at Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh. He is well known as one of the stalwarts of Scottish acting having worked in every aspect of theatre, radio, television and film.
Andy has performed at this years Glasgow International Comedy Festival starring in his one man show, playing the part of God in A Limited Run which was directed by Elaine C Smith. A Limited Run was a huge hit at last years Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Andy has numerous theatre credits to his name including a Scottish tour of Stones in your Pocket in 2005, a sell out tour of Art, The Odd Couple and Mistero Buffo (Borderline Theatre Co), The Hypochondriac (Royal Lyceum), Mate in Three (Tron), Trumpets and Raspberries (Borderline Theatre), The Recruiting Officer and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Royal Lyceum). He has also appeared in the City Lights national tour, Waiting For Godot (Newcastle Playhouse), The Adventures Of Sinbad (Eden Court), Writer's Cramp (Borderline Theatre), and Guys and Dolls (Royal Lyceum). Andy is well known as one of Scotlands great panto headliners appearing in highly successful Kings Theatre, Edinburgh productions such as Mother Goose, Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington and Cinderella, working alongside Grant Stott, Alan Stewart and many other well known names in the Scottish comedy circuit.
Television appearances include Terry McIntyre (BBC Choice), 2000 Acres of Sky (BBC), Boyz Unlimited (Hat Trick Productions), The Game (STV), Mind The Gap Double Nougat (BBC), The Baldy Man (BBC), Against All Odds (BBC), and Miles is Better (Channel 4), A Portrait of Isa Mulvenny (BBC Scotland) as well as appearing in Taggart (STV). Andy spent many years with The Comedy Unit (BBC) making memorable appearances as Chancer in City Lights (BBC Scotland) Naked Video (BBC Scotland) and also in the hugely popular television series Rab C Nesbitt which also starred Gregor Fisher, Elaine C Smith, Tony Roper and the occasional appearance of another of Scotland's comic heros Gerard Kelly(BBC 2).
Watch out for Andy, as he will be touring theatres this autumn (2006) and again working with his semi regular acting partner and good friend Elaine C Smith in a production of 'Two'.
Andy's film credits include Complicity, The Match and the David Kane hit production This Year's Love.
Andy Gray is available for corporate and after dinner engagements. He is an excellent MC and a warm, humorous and engaging speaker who appeals to a wide ranging audience.
