James May is one of the main presenters of BBC 2's successful Top Gear, now in it's fifth series. He still enjoys the battle of wits with co hosts, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson. He is a much sought after motoring journalist, writing for Top Gear Magazine, The Daily Telegraph and also contributes to Car Magazine, The Scotsman, Country Life and various technology and travel magazines.
Over that time, James has developed a keen interest in cars that are either very posh or very basic. He admits that he's not so good on the stuff in between and as a bachelor, is 'very poorly placed' to comment on family motoring. 'Jeremy can do that,' says James. 'He's got a wife, hundreds of children, and a dog.'
