TESTIMONIALS:
"Peter Martin.. is the consummate professional with guests, nominees and winners on the stage with his wit and charm used to great effect at the right time in any interview. The managers and players respect him as a sports journalist, but respond to his ability to poke fun and share more than a few laughs with his observational and interactive humour. There is no better host for a gala event that requires professionalism, humour and sensitivity in equal measure."
Fraser Wishart. PFA Scotland chief executive
"Peter Martin, as Patron of our Hospice, is a totally committed and extremely generous man, who gives so much of his time to helping us with our very demanding and challenging fundraising. He is MC at most of our events, including our Sports Dinner and Annual Ball. Peter has a tremendous flair, with a very warm sense of humour which makes him the perfect host at any event. Peter's skill in fundraising through Charity auctions and raffles whilst causing much hilarity with the guests, but always getting people to engage with the atmosphere and spirit of the event. Peter has helped us to raise many thousands of pounds for the Hospice.....what a host he is! There is only one way to describe Peter; and that is - if you are looking for an expert, this is your man."
Sister Rita MBE. Chief Executive,St Margaret of Scotland Hospice
"Peter Martin has been hosting a number of Action for Children Scotland fundraising events since 2007 and he has undoubtedly added to their success. Peter's professionalism, sharp wit, charm and charisma easily engages audiences of all sizes from 70 to over 700.You get much more than a host with Peter as he is also an excellent auctioneer and interviewer. At Action for Children Scotland's Sports Dinner, he has interviewed sporting greats like Frank Bruno, Joe Calzaghe and Steve Davis and at our Never Mind the Business event he has worked alongside a number of performers like Clare Grogan, Boney M and The Bay City Rollers. In addition to providing an all-round event host, Peter also takes the time to understand our work and his ultimate aim is to ensure as much money as possible is raised for some of the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people throughout Scotland."
Helen Quigley, Fundraising Manager, Action for Children Scotland
"Peter Martin is the best MC in the business. We have been fortunate that Peter has been the host for our functions for a number of years now but we always coordinate our dates to ensure his attendance. Peter's skills lie in his fantastic ad lib wit, his natural sense of humour and his ability to "play" a crowd - any crowd, I would suggest, sporting, business, any audience really. Our crowd love him and the feedback we get from them every year reflects this. Hence we get him again and again. We have an auction of various items every year and Peter, without doubt, ensures the he gets the maximum money available but he does this in such a humourous, skilful way, it's almost as though the audience want to give him, and therefore us, their money. He does this in such an expert way. From my discussions with speakers on the circuit, they all want to work with him. He really is so good. I cannot speak highly enough of Peter Martin and would recommend him very, very highly to anyone. We have already booked him for next year."
