Ronnie Smith has been in Sales for 40 Years. He started off as Sales Clerk with Heinz Foods at 17 and became the youngest salesman in the force, selling to Wholesalers, Hoteliers, Publicans and the expanding Takeaway market (Greggs etc).
This led to Ronnie delivering monthly presentations on the success of New Accounts, New Products and Sales.
It wasn't lomg before Ronnie was headhunted by a fairly new company to the UK, Duracell, where he moved quickly from salesman to Key Account Adviser and then Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland. He had 11 advisers under him and was only 23.
His next move was a bit of a gamble as he decided to give up the world of salary, expenses package and company car to move to the Commission Only world of Direct Insurance Sales. Ronnie knew he could substantially increase his income by doing so.
The next 30 years Ronnie Smith worked at Legal & General. He started as an Adviser and then through recruiting success he became Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Branch Manager and ultimately, Senior Branch Manager in Glasgow.
Ronnie was so successful, he was asked to speak at Legal & General's International Sales Conventions where Legal & General's top 7 % of the sales force were in attendance including all of the management and the CEO.

Bu this time Ronnie Smith was now regularaly being asked to talk at conferences and events all over the world. He spoke in San Antonio, Texas, Chateau Whistler in Canada and even on a Cruise ship in the Caribbean.

Ronnie's achievements in Sales were recognised, when he was included in Legal & General's prestigeous Top 30 Club. This was at a time when Legal & General had 3,500 advisers. He was awarded the title of Senior Branch Manager of The Year.
