Dom Joly is an award-winning television comedian. His first TV series, Trigger Happy TV. The show was a prime-time Friday night hit for four years running on Ch4 It went on to be sold in over fifty countries world-wide and win several awards. This included the Silver Rose of Montreux.
Since then, Dom has made TV shows for the BBC, Five and Sky One, including World Shut Your Mouth and the acclaimed travel series Dom Joly’s Happy Hour. In early 2010 Dom filmed a documentary on Tintin for Ch4. It was entitled Dom Joly and The Black Island.
In 2010 Dom appeared on the hit ITV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and in the following year toured a one man show throughout the UK. In this, he recounted tales of his life in the broadcasting world. 2012 saw Dom return to playing pranks on unsuspecting members of the public. This was also with his acclaimed Saturday Night ITV show, Fool Britannia.
Alongside his broadcast work, Dom Joly is a former columnist for the Independent and the Independent on Sunday. He was also an award-winning travel writer for the Sunday Times. Before Trigger Happy TV, Dom Joly started his working career as a diplomat for the EU in Prague. He was also a Producer for ITN at Westminster!

Dom’s latest book published in 2024 is the funny side of conspiracies, but he also tries to understand what makes people so drawn to them. His tour of the same name started in March 2023.
Other books include, The Dark Tourist – in which he travelled to North Korea, Iran, Chernobyl, Lebanon and Cambodia. Scary Monsters & Super Creeps: In Search of the World’s Most Hideous Beasts was published in 2012. This saw Dom travelling the world in search of mythical monsters.
Dom has also featured in and directed viral campaigns for Marmite, Barclays, Tango, Comet and Cadburys Twisted. He also worked on music videos for Ian Brown and Wig-Wam (Alex James from Blur and Betty Boo). In 2023 he was on BBC Radio4 with Dom Joly Breaks the News. Dom lives in the Cotswolds with his Canadian wife and two kids. In his spare time he is a devout ‘gamer’, a keen scuba diver, a golfer and a political anorak.
