 Denise Phillips
Denise Phillips is a Prue Leith trained chef who during the 1990's ran a successful catering company but since 2000 has focussed on cookery writing and running a popular cookery school.

She is probably the foremost exponent of Jewish cooking and is known for modern adaptations of some of the more classical recipes and placing new twists on old favourites. Denise now has a number of weekly columns in the secular and the Jewish press both here and in the US including

...Jewish Press largest Jewish newspaper in the world USA available in the UK as well as all over the USA.
...Jewish Chronicle UK's leading Jewish newspaper

Denise Philips' books include The Book of Jewish Cooking (2002), Modern Jewish Cooking with Style (2003), New Flavours of the Jewish Table (2008 by Ebury Press), Jewish Mama's Kitchen (2009 by Octopus) .

However her focus is not just on Jewish cookery. Denise has been published by Ms London, Cosmopolitan and the Vegetarian Society and she provides recipes and food advise for Ocado, Great Foods & Rakusens and is sponsored by Neff.

With her extensive knowledge, friendly manner and excellent speaking voice Denise has made a number of appearances in the last year on radio including BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio London, LBC Food Programme, as well as having her own show on Shalom FM & J Com radio. In the previous year she was on ITV's This Morning giving a six-minute cookery demonstration and interview.

She is an active member of the Food Writers Guild and has been a judge of both the Cookery Writing Awards and the Classic FM Recipe Competition.

As well as her writing, Denise also runs a popular cookery school from her own purpose built facility with regular classes covering everything from stylish desserts to everyday healthy main meals and all in her friendly, hands on style.

On Sunday nights, Denise runs ''Date On A Plate'' a unique adaptation of her cookery courses where six single men and women learn to cook and then eat a full three course meal whilst meeting each other, making new friends and relationships. (it proved so successful that she has even met her own husband through it !) ''Hen On A Plate'' is another variation offering fun filled evenings of cooking, learning and eating for pre-wedding parties.

Denise Phillips has a highly successful website, generating over 10,000 visits a month for her selection of recipes, advice and general food content.
