More men have been into space than have sailed around the world single-handed... 17year-old Mike Perham is one of those remarkable individuals.

Mike was the youngest person (age 14) to sail single-handed across the Atlantic and is now the youngest person ever, to sail single-handed, around the world.

A truly inspirational figure to young and old, Mike's exploits were the subject of a 90 minute 'Cutting Edge' TV documentary on Channel 4, called 'The School Boy Who Sailed The World'.

However, Mike Perham is not satisfied that he has two world records. Mike now wants to push the boundaries and become the most famous adventurer of his generation. He already has his sights on two more records, when in 2010 he plans to be the youngest person to fly a plane solo around the world. This also means, that Mike will be the very first person to have sailed and flown around the world, solo.

Mike Perham has been appointed an Ambassador for the Prince's Trust and VocaLink's Corporate and Social Responsibility Ambassador.

His first book is scheduled to be on the shelves for April 2010.
