Nick Baker is best known as a presenter of CBBC’s Really Wild Show, with other BBC credits including his series Under the Skin and Watchout.
2006 saw Nick co-presenting on Channel Five’s Killer Shark Live with Donal McIntyre and in 2007 he appeared in their Pirate Ship Live with Vic Reeves. Channel Five also broadcast his popular series Nick’s Quest and in a new partnership with the channel, he has appeared in a new series for them, Nick Baker’s Weird Creatures, a second series broadcasting autumn 2007. Internationally, Nick has appeared on National Geographics Ultimate Explorer.
As a celebrated author, Nick’s titles include Amateur Naturalist, Nick Baker’s Bug Book and Nick Baker’s British Wildlife. He continues to write The Habitat Explorers Guides and has also produced a range of toys – Nick Baker Nature Kits – to encourage children to explore nature.
Nick regularly appears on many of our UK TV shows such as Loose Women, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Harry Hill’s TV Burp, The Paul O’Grady Show, BBC Breakfast and Inside Out. Nick is known as an engaging speaker and his passion for his subject shines through, as does his ability to make his audience laugh.
Nick is not only busy working with animals in front of a camera, he also works on the ‘coal face of conservation’, leading a study of the declining ‘Ring Ouzel’ with the RSBP on his home turf of Dartmoor. Nick is vice-president of the charity Bug Life, a patron of Save the Rhino and is the lead-singer in a five-piece rhythm and blues band.
