Allan 'Lamby' Lamb

Allan Lamb's impressive international cricketing career, spanning the decade 1982-92, included 79 test matches for England and 128 One Day Internationals.

He captained England three times against the West Indies and Australia and captained Northampton Cricket Club from 1989 to 1994. Allan scored 4654 test runs with 14 centuries and 33502 first class runs, scoring 89 first class hundreds.

Allan was announced Cricketer of the Year in 1980. His autobiography ''Silence of the Lamb'' was published in 1996 and has to date sold over 50,000 copies.

He contributes to BBC's ''The Score'' via the internet's Sporting Web Site.

Allan toured with Ian Botham on their ''Balls N All'' and ''Beef & Lamb in a Stew'' Roadshow, playing to sellout audiences throughout the UK.

In 1997 he appeared in the film ''What Rats Won't Do'' and has made many guest appearances on TV Shows. He can also be heard Cricket commentating for Sky TV and talk shows for Channel 5.

More recent TV appearances for Allan was in the Beefy & Lamby TV advertisement promoting English Lamb & Beef for the meat board Eblex. Alan has also broadcasted a number of radio advertisements for alamo Rent-a -Car and Swinton Insurance.

He has been involved in numerous commercial activities for many corporations including, Oakley Sunglasses, Reebok, Kookaburra, Hunts County Sports, Burberry

Allan Lamb is a keen golfer with a handicap of 14. He plays regularly for Pro-Am and Company Golf Days. He is a skilled fisherman and shooting enthusiast.
