 Mike Edwards
Twice a day, every day, Mike Edwards enters millions of homes across Scotland. He is one of the best known faces in the country having been a senior news reporter with STV for the past 15 years. In a career in newspapers, radio and TV over more than two decades, he has covered every major story to have broken in Scotland, including the Piper Alpha, Lockerbie and Dunblane tragedies, devolution and the creation of the Scottish parliament, the Gleneagles G8 summit and the terror attack on Glasgow Airport. He is a BAFTA and RTS nominee. He writes a weekly column, ''Mike on Camera'', in the ''Inverness Courier'', the newspaper where he started his career.

A Major in the TA he has been mobilised to serve on operational tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. In Kabul he served in a multi national HQ. In Iraq he came under repeated enemy fire as part of the allied formation which moved from Kuwait to Basra. His war ended when he reached Saddam Hussein's gold plated toilet in his Basra river palace. His first novel Friendly Fire was published in 2006 by the Cambridge publisher Pegasus.
