John Bird

For the past twelve years John Bird has been half of the award-winning double act, The Long Johns, with John Fortune, that have brought a sharper political edge to television's ''Bremner, Bird and Fortune'' (Vera Productions for Ch4), with more planned! . As a result of the act, they have been named the Best Opposition by The Oldie Magazine and are now Bafta award winners.
John is a satirist, actor and script writer. He has appeared in numerous television productions including That Was The Week That Was, Jabberwocky, Yes, Prime Minister and Absolute Power.
Along with John Fortune, John Bird is a founder member of Peter Cook's 60's satire club, ''The Establishment''.
John joined Rory and the other John at The Albery for an Autumn season in 2002, which met with great acclaim.
John Bird and John Fortune continue to write and perform their self-contained cabarets for corporate clients with sketches spoofing city fatcats, Whitehall mandarins and New Labour spin doctors. They both also pursue separate acting careers.
