Stephen Jardine

Stephen Jardine is one of the best known faces on Scottish Television, fronting a wide range of programmes including Scotland Today.
Stephen's first experience of Scotland Today was as a student 15 years ago. I came in for some work experience back in the days of typewriters and long lunches. Let me put it this way...a lot has changed!
Stephen started his journalistic career as a reporter at Radio Tay before joining Scottish Television. All those drinks I bought when I was the visiting student obviously paid off.
He worked as a reporter in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and fronted Scotland Today with Shereen, Viv Lumsden and Kirsty Young.
When GMTV was set up in 1993, Stephen left to become the breakfast station's Scotland Correspondent. He then moved to Paris as Europe Correspondent and also sat on the famous GMTV sofa as a presenter covering stories ranging from the death of the Princess of Wales to the Cannes Film Festival.
Stephen rejoined Scottish Television in 2000. With so much happening in Scoland, and at Scottish TV, it just seemed the right thing to do.
He kicked off his return presenting Scottish Television's Millennium Hogmanay Show live from the centerer of Edinburgh - A night I will never forget - then moved onto presenting the afternoon talk show Room at the Top and his own evening chat show Tonight at the Top.
At the start of last year, Stephen became the presenter of Scottish and Grampian's flagship current affairs show Seven Days as well as a regular presenter on Scotland Today.
He has also presented the motoring show Wheel nuts and is currently filming a new series profiling talented and famous Scots.
Stephen recently won the Royal Television Society award for best Regional presenter. Returning to Scotland and Scottish TV has been great and the award was the icing on the cake.
