Kevin McCloud

Kevin McCloud is an author, columnist, designer and maker of glorious furniture, he is unique to television. His expertise is enhanced by great enthusiasm, wit and, crucially, profound empathy for the extraordinary and often, ground-breaking ideas he encounters in his programmes - including such prestigious design projects as The RIBA Stirling Prize which he presents for Channel 4
Best known for C4's Grand Designs Kevin makes his assessments of style meets invention while touring homes built to their owners designs - in some cases fulfilling life-long dreams. Each series continues to push the boundaries of invention both in design and materials.
Inside he commented on, wondered at and even despaired of the, often extraordinary, interiors of Grand Designs Indoors.
Next Grand Designs Abroad better weather perhaps but better designs..??
For a loftier viewpoint, Kevin abseiled six of Britain's tallest buildings for the BBC2 series Dont Look Down - conquering his own vertigo with incisive and witty observations as he went.
Already a highly respected designer and author, Kevins television profile really started with his work on BBC 2s Homefront.
In 98 Kevin moved outside for BBC TVs Homefront In The Garden showing the same panache with plants and paint that he previously employed inside. His flamboyant work on the carved and painted rococo ceiling in Harrods Food Halls is just one testament to his creative work and his first book - Kevin McClouds Decorating Book (1990) - is still in print in five languages. The companion volume The Techniques of Decorating and Kevin McClouds Lighting Book were both published in 1995, and in 1996 came The Complete Decorator.
His delightful presentation style has been employed to great effect in the corporate field with his specialist knowledge ever more sought-after while his design work for Debenhams and his colours for Fired Earth paints have been inspirational.

Regeneration is a huge project making over not just a building but the entire rundown area of Castleford and following the process of bringing it back to life.
