Bruce Parry

 Bruce Parry
Commissioned into Royal Marines May 1988, Bruce Parry completed one year management, leadership & commando training before spending several years as a troop commander.

In the Marines he specialised as a physical training instructor and became the youngest ever officer responsible for all physical aspects of Royal Marines Commando Training. During his service he served in arctic Norway and on operation in Iraq before leaving as a Lieutenant after six years service.

Since then he has spent his time in the film, TV and expedition industries.

As an expeditioner he has has personally organised and led over 15 major expeditions to various extreme parts of the world and has extensive remote experience of the desert, arctic, jungle and some mountaineering.

In film, he has worked as a location manager and assistant director for music videos, feature films & commercials and as a camera operator, director and presenter for television.

Bruce filmed a six-part, prime time series for the BBC on Indigenous Peoples round the world which was transmitted in 2005. The Tribe as it was know, became a huge success for both Bruce and the BBC and a further two series were commissioned. Bruce Parry was now one of the leading lights of the new breed of TV adventurers.

A new adventure was soon to follow when Bruce spent almost eight months filming in the Amazon and in 2009 he was back on our screens with 'Amazon' the series. Ratings were climbing and people just couldn't get enough of Bruce Parry.

In 2010 he journeyed North to Siberia, Canada, Alaska and Greenland to film a series covering changes in climate and how it was affecting the people, their culture and the environment. A book was also written and released to accompany the series which became a best seller.

Bruce Parry lives by the Royal Marines PTI philosophy of flat out or perfectly still! whereby he is only happy in the tranquility of the wilderness or the mayhem of a London club.
