Shereen Nanjiani was the main presenter for ‘Scotland Today’. She did this for over 20 years and is one of the best known faces on Television in Scotland.
She currently presents her own topical guest panel show, “Shereen” broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland every Saturday morning.
Shereen joined Scottish Television in 1983 as a trainee journalist working her way up to be a reporter. In 1987 Shereen Nanjiani was called in as a stand in for Sheena McDonald who was off ill. It was her big break and two weeks later she was made permanent presenter.
During her time with STV Shereen has produced and presented a number of special reports from the world’s trouble spots, the plight of the AIDS orphans in Romania, the first multi-racial elections in South Africa, the Afghan refugee camps post 9 11, and the famine and Make Poverty History campaign in Africa.
In addition to ‘Scotland Today’, Shereen Nanjiani has presented many other programmes for STV including the documentary series, ‘Secret Scotland’, the religious magazine series, ‘Eikon’, and a number of live debates and election programmes.
In 2006 she began working for BBC Radio Scotland presenting ‘Scotland Live’, a news and current affairs magazine programme. She has also written a number of articles for Scottish newspapers.
Shereen Nanjiani is a superb host and very much in demand for awards ceremonies, conferences etc.
