Paul Lambert

 Paul Lambert
Paul Lambert began his career with St Mirren. He enjoyed a great deal of success during a nine year spell with The Buddies, including winning the Scottish Cup in 1987.

He is a masterful midfielder, and it wasn't long before Lambert moved on to bigger and better things. In 1993 he signed for Motherwell and after a three year spell at Fir Park, he was spotted and signed by Borussia Dortmund coach Ottmar Hitzfeld.

He arrived in the Bundesliga in 1996, and during a 15 month period excelled at the Westfalenstadion and helped Dortmund win the UEFA Champions League in 1997.

He returned to Scotland in November 1997, joining Celtic in a 2million deal. He was an instant success and became a very influential figure for the team, helping them win titles galore, and captaining the side which lost the UEFA Cup final to Porto in 2003.

Many believed the 2003-04 campaign would be his last as he spent a lot of time on the sidelines. However, still appeared 22 times for the Hoops helping them to their Double triumph.

After a stint as manager of Livingston FC, Pual Lambert moved South and after guiding Norwich City to the Premier League, he moved to his current position as manager of Aston Villa.
