Tim Healy, a life-long Newcastle United fan was first a paratrooper before becoming an actor. Coronation Street was his first TV role, and he subsequently appeared in The World Cup - A Captain's Tale, Emmerdale Farm, When The Boat Comes In, Crown Court and Minder before his first major role - as Dennis the gaffer in Auf Wiedersehen Pet in the 1980s.

Since then, the Geordie actor has starred in many TV dramas, including The Grand and Common as Muck. He was also reunited with his former colleagues for two further series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet which was based around the boys working in Cuba.
