Duncan Goodhew MBE


 Duncan Goodhew MBE
One of the most respected and instantly recognisable athletes, Olympic finalist Montreal 1976. Duncan was Captain of the GB swim team at the 1980 Olympic Games where he won gold in the 100 metres breaststroke and a bronze on the 4x100 metres medley relay.

He was also a member of the GB Bob Sleigh team at the 1981 European Championships. In 1994 Duncan set up and secured funding for the Youth Sport Trust. His company Limelight Projects, runs some of Britains largest mass participation events. Duncan is a swimming contributor for the Financial Times and author of Fix Your Life Now.

He has presented over 200 motivational speeches to many of Britains leading companies, including Exxon, Prudential, IBM and Coutts and set up an Executive Survival Clinic for Coopers and Lybrand.

Duncans success with the BT Swimathon is well known. From its inception in 1988, it has raised over 10 million for worthwhile causes and is one of BTs most successful sponsorship campaigns.

Duncans considerable sporting and business experience, combined with his pleasing manner, informed approach and articulate delivery, make him a natural choice for personal appearances, motivational and after dinner speaking, as well as corporate days and promotions.
